  Please be advised this is an NYSCSS Board and Advisory Panel* event only and you will need a registration code to register.  Attendees will receive the code via an email from President Lisa Kissinger.

  The dinner and meeting will take place at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton, 225 Water Street, Binghamton, NY 13901 from 6:00 - 7:30 PM.    Dinner will be served from 6:00 to 6:45 PM, followed by a business meeting.   

  PAYMENT: Although there is NO payment for this meal if you are a no show or do not cancel by the deadline you will be billed the full cost of the meal. You must cancel via email sent to Tim Potts no later than Friday, February 20, 2026 at 4:00 PM.

  Thank you for your interest in the New York State Council for the Social Studies 88th Annual Convention: Seize the Moment! The 2026 NYSCSS Convention will take place from March 5-7, 2026 at the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton, 225 Water Street, Binghamton, NY 13901.

  Membership is required to attend the Convention. Non-member registration includes NYSCSS membership for one (1) calendar year. One annual convention per yearly membership rate. Please click here to learn about our various membership options.

  Only registered and paid attendees will be admitted to the Convention and related events. If there are questions please contact: Tim Potts NYSCSS Treasurer

  Convention registration includes breakfast and lunch on Thursday (3/5/26) and Friday (3/6/26) and a continental breakfast on Saturday (3/7/26).  We will sponsor the following social events:

  • Thursday, March 5, 2026, President's Reception and Awards Ceremony, register here, 5:00 - 7:00 PM, $20.00 ticket, free parking and shuttle available. No purchase orders will be accepted for this event.
  • Friday, March 6, 2026, NYSCSS Trivia Challenge. One free beverage ticket. There is no cost for this event and no preregistration. 

  Registering for the Convention:

  Registering with your district (through MyLearningPlan or another registration system) is NOT registering with NYSCSS.  You must complete convention registration through our registration and payment portal.  Please do not delay in processing the proper paperwork with your district.  

  Deadlines are firm as the NYSCSS is responsible for guaranteed meal counts with the DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Binghamton. 

  Presenting at the convention?  All presenters must be registered and paid (by credit card or purchase order) by Friday, January 30, 2026. Unpaid presenters will not be able to present their respective session(s). 

  Please be patient after clicking "Next" on each page of the registration form. New pages may take time to load. Do not hit "refresh" or your information may be lost.

  Payment Options:

  Payment by Credit Card:

  • All credit card payments can be made online through our PayPal link using a bank account transaction, debit card, or credit card. When the transaction is completed, you will receive an email invoice confirming payment. You don't have to have a PayPal account to pay; you can use the guest checkout option to pay with a debit or credit card. Please scroll to the bottom of the page (on the PayPal link/page) to input your chosen credit or debit card.

  • If your registration costs are being paid by a school or organization with a credit or debit card, each individual's registration must be entered separately.  This will need to be done by the person registering as they will use their own account settings and password. If you elect or are required to have district personnel access your personal NYSCSS account (for current NYSCSS members only), we suggest you change your member password before and after such payment.

  • Credit card payments for convention registration will be accepted until 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.   

  Payment by Purchase Order:
  

  • Purchase orders: A purchase order is a document that encumbers funds from your school district's specified budget lines. It is a promise to pay. If you are planning to pay with a purchase order at the time of registration, please select “purchase order.” You will receive an auto-generated invoice that is your invoice to submit to your district. You (not NYSCSS) need to submit this invoice with your registration information to your district staffer.  You will need to click that you agree with this process during registration. Some districts may require a quote prior to generating a purchase order. The NYSCSS invoice will serve as this quote.  If you do not submit the invoice with your registration, you will delay the processing of the registration and payment.  Your registration may not be paid prior to the convention.  You must check with the appropriate school/district staffer to confirm that the invoice has been processed to create the purchase order and subsequent payment to NYSCSS before you come to the convention.  NYSCSS reserves the right to refuse entry to you at the convention without confirmation of payment.  

  • If the convention is held, purchase orders cannot be unilaterally cancelled by the registrant or district staffer. Districts are responsible for paying their purchase orders and payment will be pursued to central office administration. 

  • If your school or organization is paying by check or purchase order for multiple attendees, please make certain that the names of all attendees being paid for and the corresponding invoice number are clearly entered on all documents accompanying the mailed check or purchase order. A school or organization's contact person (with phone and email address) should be identified on the purchase order.

  • District staffers - Please note that you must check the NYSCSS address in WinCap or respective district management systems and make sure all OLD NYSCSS mailing addresses are removed from WinCap. 

  • PAYMENT:  School district purchase orders for convention registration must be received either by mail or email no later than 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026. 

  Please note: 

  • NO refunds will be issued for any costs after Tuesday, February 24, 2026  including weather related issues unless the entire convention is cancelled by NYSCSS personnel. Written notification via email of your cancellation must be received by 9:00 PM on Tuesday, February 24, 2026 by Tim Potts, treasurer@nyscss.org. 

  • If the annual convention pivots to an online event in any capacity no reimbursements will be made. Notification will be posted on the NYSCSS website. 

  Attention New York City Public Schools Teachers: We are no longer accepting purchase orders from NYC Public Schools. You must pay by NYC Public Schools' credit card or via a personal payment.

  This registration event is for invited guest presenters or panelists at the 2026 NYSCSS Annual Convention, March 5-7, 2026. Please note this is NOT for general registrants for the 2026 Convention. The fee is $50.00 and includes breakfast and lunch for the date that you are a guest presenter or panelist.

  Set Up: 12:00 PM-6:30 PM (Subject to change) 

  Please note that exhibition booths are next to the grand ballroom in the atrium area where keynoters and meals will take place. Convention registration will begin Wednesday evening in this area so your respective booth(s) must be set up by 6:30 PM. No product nor boxes can be in the walkways, etc. No set up will take place the morning of Thursday, March 5, 2026.

  INFORMATION AND PRICING

  Come join us at the DoubleTree by Hilton Binghamton (225 Water St., Binghamton, NY 13901) with a wonderful large atrium area next to the grand ballroom provides a great area to exhibit your products and materials. The dedicated exhibit area is located near registration, meals, and keynote sessions. Easy access in and out from the main DoubleTree hotel driveway entrance. 

  Pipe and draped or open table booths with your company backdrop(s) are available. If a pipe and draped booth (approximately 6' deep by 8' wide) is selected each booth will come with a one line identification sign, 6’ skirted table, garbage can, and two chair(s). Open table booths will require your companies own signage and will not come with pipe and drape. 

  Electric ($75 per booth) billed through NYSCSS. Additional exhibitor booth equipment add-ons are available on a fee based schedule and are booked through our decorator Northeast Decorators. Please request the Northeast Decorators PDF through NYSCSS for additional booth equipment, drayage, shipping information, etc.

  $800-Commercial Exhibitor Booth (for profit sellers, educational companies, etc.)

  $500-Non/Not for Profit (501 C 3) Exhibit Booth-one fee for all this year. Documentation required if a new exhibitor. 

  $475-Author Book Showcase Exhibit Booth 

  $450-College/University Product Sales/Display 

  $350-College/University Program Display 

  $300-Museum Showcase Participants-Binghamton area (Two day participation is required). This category is for local area museums to promote their programs and facilities for schools. Museums must be in a 30 mile radius. If you are a museum outside the radius the non-profit rate applies (see above). If your organization exhibited at this category rate in 2025 you may select it for 2026.

  REGISTRATION AND HOUSING

  Each booth will be receive two (2) complimentary conference registrations. Additional registrations may be obtained at a cost of:

  • $175 per commercial representative
  • $125 per non-profit representative

  If you desire more than one booth, please fill out a separate registration for each booth, remembering that each booth ordered entitles you to two complimentary registrations.
  
  Online registration only-there are no paper forms. Payment by credit card or business check. If you are paying by check please select that option and proceed with mailing. A separate vendor contract will be sent under separate cover to your designee.

  Our hotel guest room information can be found under our 2026 conference tab. This block closes on February 20, 2026. Don't delay.

  DRAPER/DECORATOR & MEAL SERVICES         

  A separate PDF of services for additional booth items through Northeast Decorators will be emailed. 

  Breakfast & lunch are provided each day with convention attendees while exhibiting and is part of your booth registration fee. 
  

  ADVERTISING OPTIONS 

  When filling in the registration form you will see options for purchasing advertising space to be placed in the convention related publication and specific NYSCSS newsletters at the following costs:

  Interior Full Page 7 x 10" -$675
  Interior Half Page Horizontal - 7" x 5"- $275/Interior Half Page Vertical - 7" x 5"- $275

  This $20.00 ticketed event will include a tour of the Phelps Mansion, delicious appetizers, two beverage tickets and a ticket for a gift basket raffle.  Free parking is available at the Phelps Mansion and shuttle service will be provided from the DoubleTree Hotel by Hilton Binghamton. 

  Registration and payment deadline is Tuesday, February 24, 2026.

  Payment for this event can only be made with credit card. No personal, school checks or purchase orders will be accepted for this event.
