Learn techniques for analyzing and interpreting modern and contemporary art in New York City's premier art museums. This summer institute for educators of grades 3–12 (all subject areas) is cohosted by The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art.

Participants will:

· Learn and apply object-based teaching strategies.

· Build confidence incorporating modern and contemporary

art into lesson plans.

· Utilize great works of art as forums for interdisciplinary
investigations.

Common Core State Standards
Prepare for and participate effectively in a range of conversations and collaborations with diverse partners, building on others' ideas and expressing their own clearly and persuasively. (CCSS.ELA-Literacy.CCRA.SL.1)
