GeoFest 2012 - Connections!

Location: 1000 E. Henrietta Rd. Rochester NY 14623

The New York Geographic Alliance is proud to announce that we will be holding our annual celebration of geography, GeoFest 2012, at Monroe Community College (1000 E. Henrietta Road, Rochester, NY 14623) on Saturday October 20, 2012. Our theme this year is similar to Geography Awareness Week... Connections are Important! (The GAW theme is "Declare Your Interdependence!"

As always, we will start the day with a continental breakfast and a short welcoming ceremony. There will be three workshop sessions on a wide variety of topics - Erie Canal, our new Chesapeake Bay Watershed Initiative, global studies, citizenship, social studies and the Common Core/Social Studies...and much more! After the workshops, there will be an optional canal trip on Corn Hill Navigation Company's Sam Patch, with lunch and an awards presentation. We are hoping to have two important "historical" guests on our cruise.

Details of GeoFest 2012 will be available in late-summer, including costs, registration, and a more detailed agenda. If you would like to present a workshop at GeoFest 2012, email Tim McDonnell, and he will send you the paperwork. Presenters have their registration fees waived!
