NYSCSS is the statewide professional organization of social studies educators. Our members are committed to ensuring that all students graduate from high school and college ready for lifelong learning, engaging careers, and active civic life. Membership in NYSCSS is open to all who are interested in social studies education as:

NYSCSS has a strong working relationships with the New York State Education Department (NYSED). Because of you, NYSCSS has been able to participate in the:

development of the New York State Learning Standards for Social Studies.
creation of the Social Studies Core Curriculum and state assessments at all levels.
revision of Social Studies Frameworks in the Common Core era.
organized sessions with NYSED to inform policy changes.

New York continues to support social studies education, in large part due to the advocacy for social studies through your NYSCSS membership.

3 NYSCSS - PRE-SERVICE TEACHER - $17.50 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Same benefits as NYSCSS Regular membership. Must demonstrate proof of current enrollment in a teacher preparation program at the time of application.

4 NYSCSS - RETIRED - $24.50 (USD) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments Same benefits as NYSCSS Regular membership.

5 NYSCSS - LIFETIME - $700.00 (USD) Subscription period: Unlimited Same benefits as NYSCSS Regular membership, with no need to renew every year!

6 SCHOOL DISTRICT (up to 5,000 students) - $500.00 (USD) Bundle (unlimited) Subscription period: 1 year No automatically recurring payments This subscription level includes public school districts, individual charter schools, and private schools. Benefits are tailored to your organization's needs and interests to include:
