Our theme – “Social Studies: Seize the Moment” speaks to the important role Social Studies plays in preparing students to understand and engage in their communities. Our Annual Convention will offer a combination of keynote addresses, workshop sessions, and clinics based in content scholarship and high quality pedagogy. Our goal in building the program for our 88th Annual Convention is to create a market-place of ideas – a forum and a showcase for instructional strategies, materials, and programs, teaching methods, and networking opportunities.

Looking for something to do?
We’re excited to move the Convention in 2026 to the Greater Binghamton area -- home of one of SUNY’s premier institutions, Binghamton University. This location offers us new possibilities for partnerships, off-site events and makes it easier for teachers in New York’s central and Finger Lakes region to attend. The DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel is on the Chenango River, steps away from downtown Binghamton.
