The Civil War Washington Teacher Fellows. 


 This week-long summer institute will take place in Washington from July 14 -19, 2013.  Join up to 25 teachers to learn about Abraham Lincoln, Frederick Douglass and the city of Washington during the Civil War.  Experience interpretive tours of Ford’s Theatre, President Lincoln’s Cottage, the Frederick Douglass National Historic Site, the U.S Capitol and more.  Come away from your week with a trove of primary source material to use in your class and new skills for leading place-based learning experiences.  The $1000 registration fee includes a round trip ticket on American Airlines and six nights at the Willard Intercontinental Hotel.  Or, the $600 registration gets you the roundtrip ticket and a shared room at the Willard.
