We are very pleased to announce that our 88th Annual Convention will be held March 5-7, 2026 at the DoubleTree Hotel in Binghamton, New York.

Our theme – “Social Studies: Seize the Moment” speaks to the important role Social Studies plays in preparing students to understand and engage in their communities. Our Annual Convention will offer a combination of keynote addresses, workshop sessions, and clinics based in content scholarship and high quality pedagogy. Our goal in building the program for our 88th Annual Convention is to create a market-place of ideas – a forum and a showcase for instructional strategies, materials, and programs, teaching methods, and networking opportunities.

We’re excited to move the Convention in 2026 to New York’s Southern Tier. The Southern Tier is the home of one of SUNY’s premier institutions, Binghamton University. This location offers us new possibilities for partnerships, off-site events and makes it easier for teachers in New York’s central and Finger Lakes region to attend. The DoubleTree Hotel is located near the confluence of the Chenango and Susquehanna rivers, and offers easy access to downtown Binghamton, I- 81, I-88 and I-86/Route 17.

Information about our proposal submission process, registration, the hotel block and becoming an exhibitor at our Convention will be released later this summer and in the early fall. Watch this space for updates!
