Congratulations to the Niagara Frontier Council for the Social Studies (NFCSS) and its President Rich Pyszczek who were honored with the Daniel B. Niederlander Award on October 4, 2018. The Niederlander Award is presented by the Buffalo History Museum to a local education, cultural or heritage organization for outstanding and high caliber programming in service of Western New York and especially youth. NFCSS was acknowledged for connecting social studies teachers with cultural organizations in the Greater Buffalo Area and for their work directly with students through events like History Day, the American History Bee, and an African American History essay contest.
