AIBS Fellowships

AIBS supports three types of Fellowships:

All are intended for research in Bangladesh for a minimum of two months and a maximum of twelve months and are funded by the U.S. Department of State Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs through the Council of American Overseas Research Centers. Students from all disciplines are eligible.

Please note that all applications require a $25 processing fee.

A grant awarded to a faculty member or student from a US institution that is a member of AIBS will incur no additional fees, but for submissions from non-represented institutions there is a $250 membership fee to be paid before an award can be dispersed.

All awardees should enroll as AIBS individual members prior to commencing the fellowship. Individual membership costs $25 annually.

Application Procedure: Applications must be submitted via the AIBS online application package. The application will include a proposal (10 page maximum), curriculum vitae (2 page maximum), and three letters of reference. Pre-doctoral applications must also submit a transcript and a letter from the dissertation advisor. (This letter can be one of the three letters of reference.)

Application Deadline: Application deadline for 2014-15 is Friday, September 27th at 11:59 (CST).
