Connecting Collections Application


Integrating Modern and Contemporary Art into the Classroom
The Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Museum of Modern Art, Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, and the Whitney Museum of American Art present a summer institute for educators.

Please note that there is a non-refundable $25 processing fee due when you submit your application.
WHO? Teachers of grades 3-12 for all subject areas are welcome to apply. Enrollment is limited to 40 participants; previous participants may not reapply to the program. Because of the conversational workshop style of this program, participants must be comfortable speaking English.

WHAT? During the week, teachers will:
1. Learn and apply object-based teaching strategies in the museum/classroom
2. Build confidence incorporating modern and contemporary art into lesson planning; and
3. Utilize works of art as a forum/vehicle for interdisciplinary investigations

WHEN? Monday, July 8-Friday, July 12, 2013; 10 a.m.–4 p.m. daily

COST? Tuition is $400 and includes instruction, curriculum materials, and lunch each day (please note that we cannot accommodate kosher meals or other similar dietary restrictions). Payment will be due after notification of acceptance into the program. Please note that this is in addition to the $25 application processing fee.

HOW? Fill out the application below. Applications are due by Friday, May 12, 2013; notice of acceptance will be emailed. Your spot is not confirmed until you hear from the application committee.
