Thank you for your interest in attending Social Studies: The Core of Teaching and Learning - our 77th annual convention! NYSCSS & NYS4A, together with our convention partners, are dedicated to bringing you a high-quality program at the lowest possible cost.

Effective March 1, 2015, advanced registration for the 77th annual convention is now closed. Due to popular demand, all meal functions and keynote presentations have met their seating capacity. Registrations will continue to be accepted at "on-site registration" rates. These rates are at 75% of the cost of advanced registration because they do not include meals or admission to the keynote presentations. You will still have access to all other workshops, clinics, exhibits, and special events.
  • Registration and meal costs have not increased for the third consecutive year! Our 2015 costs are maintained at 2013 prices.
  • Hotel room accommodations start at $129 for single/double occupancy - no increase from last year!
  • Free internet access is provided in all convention spaces.
  • Complimentary parking is provided to all overnight guests. Reduced parking at $5 per day is provided to all other convention attendees.
  • Registration costs for retirees and students are discounted over 35%.
  • One-day Thursday or Friday registration includes Saturday registration at no additional cost.
Thursday Evening Reception: Payment is not included with registration. You can register and pay for the Reception when you fill out the registration form. Space is limited.


Friday Evening Awards Reception and Dinner: Payment is not included with registration. You can register and pay for the Awards Reception and Dinner when you fill out the registration form.


MEMBERSHIP: Required to attend the conference. Non-member registration includes NYSCSS Membership for one (1) calendar year. Please click here to learn about our various membership options.


PAYMENT:  All payments can be made online through our PayPal link using a bank account transaction, debit card, or credit card. When the transaction is completed, you will receive an e-mail invoice confirming payment. You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this option.

SCHOOL/ORGANIZATION PAYING YOUR COSTS?: If your registration costs are being paid by an organization with a credit or debit card, each individual's registration must be done separately. Since this will require personnel in your business office to have access to your personal NYSCSS account (for current NYSCSS members only), we suggest you change your member password before and after such payment. If your school or organization is paying by check or purchase order, please make certain that that the names of attendees being paid for are written on documents accompanying the mailed check or purchase order. A school or organization contact person (with phone and e-mail address) should be identified on the purchase order.


We provide a certificate of attendance for all attendees.


All on-site registration payments must be received by the start of the convention.


All checks and purchase orders must be received by Saturday, February 28, 2015. New registrations and full payments received after this date will still be honored but will not include meals.
